Start of the main season for the castles Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau

Since Saturday 24th March 2018 the main season in Hohenschwangau started with the German Easter holidays.

What does this mean?

As the Ticket Center in Hohenschwangau will open at 7:30am, our office will be open from 8:45am until 6pm.

Tours in the castle will be held until 6pm instead of 4pm (Hohenschwangau castle until 5pm!) and in smaller time spans. This results in more tours throughout the castles.

Especially on Weekends and German school holidays the amount of people visiting the castle will increase drastically. Long lines and waiting times in front of the Ticket Center Hohenschwangau aren´t uncommon. We recommend buying or reserving your tickets in advance to avoid long queues and even a sold-out castle!

Skip the long lines for the castles!

Up to one day in advance you can easily reserve tickets for the castle through our website or directly in our office at Füssen train station.

If you haven´t already reserved your tickets we can offer you – depending on availability – tickets without reservations for the same day! But this is no guarantee that we will still have tickets when you arrive at the train station. It´s also riskier than just reserving your tickets in advance!

For a few weeks now, we have had our set tour times and spots for the castle. If you are interested in purchasing tickets, feel free to contact us about our tour times.

Tipp: Give yourself some more time and visit also the Hohenschwangau castle! King Ludwig II. spent most of his childhood in this beautiful castle which was built by his father King Maximilian I. It also offers you a great insight in the life of a family from the 19th century!

Another sight you should not miss is the Museum of Bavarian Kings! Located in the same village as the two castles, you can learn all about the Bavarian monarchy! You can even look at King Ludwig II. robe such as other great artefacts!
