A Combo Castle Tour Fit for a King
If you’re making the journey to Füssen, you simply can’t miss an opportunity to visit some of the picturesque castles that dot the hillside in the surrounding towns. Visiting these castles is like stepping back in time, and the history and charming details will captivate you at every corner.
This combination ticket includes a tour of both Neuschwanstein Castle and Hohenschwangau Castle. Our convenient online ticketing allows you to purchase your tickets ahead of time and arrive at the castles without having to wait in line.
We recommend starting with Hohenschwangau Castle which is based in the village of Hohenschwangau and easy to reach on foot. This 19-century castle was the home of King Ludwig II of Bavaria, built by his father, King Maximillian II of Bavaria. The interior is well-preserved, sporting colorful murals, opulent details, and exotic rooms like the Hall of Heroes and Knights and the Oriental Room. Don’t forget to marvel at the view of Neuschwanstein Castle before you go.
After your tour inside Hohenschwangau Castle, you will have enough time to walk to Neuschwanstein Castle, known as the inspiration for Disney’s Cinderella castle. The more idyllic of the two castles, this structure truly appears to be from a fairy tale. Whether exploring the grotto and conservatory, oratory, or throne hall, your visit to Neuschwanstein is sure to delight at every turn.
If you choose to take a shuttle bus or a horse and carriage ride, then make sure you have enough time, as there can be long waiting lines for both.

Please note: Ticket must be collected from our office at least 90 minutes before your tour begins. There are steps up to Hohenschwangau Castle but it is relatively easy to reach. Reaching and touring inside Neuschwanstein Castle does require a medium level of fitness and is not suited for limited mobility. Allow 4 1/2 hours from beginning to completing the tour and to getting back to Füssen.
